Thomas Alva EdisonAn inventor famous for the light bulb and the phonograph.
In 1878, Edison wrote an article about the phonograph, which he had just invented. In this article, he predicted uses of technology, such as "education, reader, music, family record," and other things (Edison). Read the Article What I Think I think that Edison had a very positive view on recording's effect on society, and imagined widely distributed cylinders of musicians and other things. Many of Edison's predictions turned out to be correct, and some of his technology is still used today, but he failed to predict some of the problems with recording and experience. |
